Brazil

  1.        On December 15th the Kirkmans will board a plane to Brazil. We will stay in Salvador. Salvador is on the coast of Brazil. There are lots of Churches in Salvador. Some Churches are like “walking into a King’s jewlry box.” Salvador was 1st founded by Europeans in 1502. Then in 1534 the Portuguese settled Salvador. Salvador quickly became a seaport and became the center of sugar trade and slave trade. There were more slaves brought from Africa to Brazil than anywhere else in the world. That is why there are so many Africans in Salvador. After we leave Salvador we will travel around the the coast to Barra Grande, Trancoso, Itacare and Caraiva. Brazil is the biggest country in South America and the 5th largest country in the world. It also has the 5th highest population. The capital of Brazil is Brasilia.
Salvadors carnival is the largest in the world.

Salvador's carnival is the largest in the world.

    Hi Cyrus!
I really like your post about Brazil, links to sites where I can find out more, etc. I also like the interviews with your family – cool!
