Barra Beach to do List

1.      Put on sunscreen so I don’t get a sunburn. Warning – don’t get it in your eyes!

2.      Put on flip flops

3.      Walk along beach and feel waves against your feet

4.      Watch people play paddle-ball and get the ball when it goes in the waves

5.      Lose your flip-flops

6.      Make friends with the paddle-ball players, Isa and Joe

7.      Help Cyrus build a sandcastle

8.      Wash yourself in the waves and almost drown

9.      Walk to the far end of the beach to look for seashells for the sandcastle and get lost

10.  Learn snorkeling with Isa

11.  See a big fish with sharp teeth chasing a little fish

12.  Eat cheese on skewers with Isa

13.  Observe dead crab with Joe and find out that the crab is alive

14.  Take pictures with Isa, Joe, and Cyrus’s sandcastle

15.  Say bye to Isa and Joe and watch the sunset over the sea

16.  Get a ride home on Papa’s shoulders

Lazy Sunday (by all of us)
    1. Sleep in late because it’s ccccold and we want to stay under the covers.
    2. Wake up to the smell of cinnamon rolls that India surprised us with.
    3. Think about going swimming at the YMCA, but step outside into the freezing air and change our minds.
    4. Stir the brocoli cheese soup that Mom has simmering on the stove (and check the cupboard to make sure we have plenty of Zestas!).
    5. Cuddlle on the sofa with lots of blankets while we watch the KC Chiefs rack up another loss.
    6. Dig into the delicious soup and warm our hands on the mugs.
    7. Try to be quiet because Mom accidentally fell asleep.
    8. Make a sample batch of peanut butter balls and get a tummy ache eating too many (I guess that means they were good!).
    9. Think of Cy, Bell and Cruz frolicking in the hot sand and sun, while our noses turn red with cold (even in the house).
    10. Stay up late ‘cuz we’re on Christmas break!

    1. look out the window and see 4 inches of new snow
    2. add 4+8 and realize there is a foot of snow on the ground
    3. ski to friends for dinner and laughter
    4. attach sled to a tether to tow
    5. venture forth, climbing mount Tabor
    6. ascend and descend, jumping 6 feet on the sled
    7. return home for warmth and sleep
    8. inspect bruises from sledding
    9. shovel the driveway, attempting to return to normal life
    10. reminisce fondly cozy snowed in days when nothing could be done but ski, read, sleep, and love life.

    Hello Bella and family,

Ms. Byrnes here; I have been checking your site and am learning so much about the world as seen through your eyes. It is just amazing! It is snowy and cold in Santa Fe, a contrast to your warm beach weather. I loved the little kitten you were holding.

The kids at Carlos Gilbert are starting to work on their Science Fair projects and I am wondering if you and Cyrus might be interesting in sharing any project ideas with the students here. I checked your host web-site Green-Energy and think that something related to water or carbon foot print might be good ideas. Let me know what you think.

    Happy New Year!
